It is worth to mention here that large differences have been observing for last few months between the government of Pakistan and the HEC over the issue of HEC’s devolution.Punjab rulers’ hearts nosebleed for the up-lifting of Poor’s education – Lahore
Lahore, Danish School System, a project of the Punjab government originally meant for the poorest of the poor, will too cater to the prosperous section of the society. While per the Punjab Danish Schools and Centers of Excellence Authority Act 2010, the schools would also reserve ten percent seats for the students capable of paying their fee and other expenses.
At present; six Danish Schools are functional in two districts of Southern Punjab i.e. Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan. The schools, situated at Christian, Hasilpur and Rahim Yar Khan, are six in number while each school has two separate buildings and further infrastructure for boys and girls.
In “Danish School system”, Student will avail the chance of standard education. However, owing to insufficient publicity and misconception among the public about the project, only ten paying-students might secure admission to Danish Schools, out of total enrolment of 660 in these schools.
The solution of backwardness and poverty in south Punjab lies in the promotion of quality education. The Punjab government has decided to launch Danish School System for destitute people where below Food Support Programme children of registered families would be provided all facilities free of cost. Punjab Educational Endowment Fund had been set up for the first time in the history of the country for providing financial assistance to talented students facing economic problems to enable them to continue their studies.
The CM said the project would ensure provision of modern academic facilities to students of far-flung and backward areas. The objective of setting up Danish Schools in backward areas was to give modern educational facilities there so that their sense of deprivation could be removed and they feel part of the mainstream.
This step of Punjab government demonstrates which Punjab rulers were not only interested in betterment of the lot of urban elite’s children but their heart too bleeds for the rural population deprived of basis needs. In future expectedly which quality of education will be added concentrated than quantity of education.
